Isn't it great that the most popular myth determines reality?
There is no spirit realm, you do not have a soul, when you're dead you are gone, "heaven" is empty. There you go.
my best friend of 14 years and maid of honor passed away 2 months ago at age 32 after battling breast cancer for 6 years.
i haven't been the same since for many reasons.. as a jw kid i believed 144,000 chosen went to heaven, the good people would be resurrected including those who didn't have a chance to hear about jehovah, and the rest, which were of other religions and bad people, died and would cease to exist.
again, because i was a kid when i left, i never really understood the jw position on death and why they came to their conclusion.

just found out from my jw mom that the congregations located in the suburbs north of seattle.
will be renting buses to shuttle people back and forth to the international convention at husky.
stadium.
LoisLane - Generally I like Ivar's. I'm near Ivars Indian Salmon House and have dined inside and got take-away from the outdoor fish 'n chips bar. I've never had a problem with either. Is there one location that you've found problematic? ...was it food quality, service or ambience? Not all store managers are always at the top of their game.
Shirley - I didn't say I "HAD" a hoverboard, I just expressed distance in terms of hoverboard-ability. No, I'm joking - of COURSE I have a hoverboard! It was a gift when I joined The Liars' Club! Yeah, THAT'S the ticket!
I think the Dubs attending will find the stadium overrun with rabid beavers. But there's no threat from the primarily nocturnal, large, semi-aquatic rodents living in the marshy shores of Lake Washington.

Has anyone mentioned the lack of nearby eateries?
I live within ten minutes from Husky Stadium by hoverboard.
The proper name of the stadium is "Alaska Airlines Arena at The University of Washington." But everyone calls it Husky Stadium becuase that's where the University of Washington (u Dub) Huskies football team plays.
As has been already mentioned, the immediately adjacent "properties" are Lake Washington
(with a temperature of 50° or less, it is ideal for baptisms. High-beams, anyone? ),
the Lake Washington Ship Canal and University property. If you walk north a good 1/4 mile, you have the "University Village" shopping center with some restaurants and fast food places in and around U Village. There are a couple of local burger joints - Burgermaster and Kidd Valley and a McDonald's, various Pizza places, a GREAT ( and expensive, cheapskates) local steakhouse - Jak's Grill. There are other restarants, but I can't vouch for them.
The closest motel is "Silver Cloud Inn - University District". It is at the north side of U Village, so it might be one kilometer (0.6 mile) from the Stadium. I have absolutely no idea about the availability or the quality of the rooms. I would bet money they do NOT have room service.
About a quarter-mile south of the Stadium on the other side of the canal is a mostly residential area with no fast or slow food for about another mile or so.
I think the WTB&TS saw the relative isolation of the Stadium as a MAJOR appeal. "Keep the audience captive."
after a jehovah's witness secretly confronted a foster child, eunice spry was jailed for torturing three children; she is now set to be released from prison and re-homed near her victims.
uk.
(warning - graphic pictures and story).
It would be terrible if after her release poor Eunice fell and struck her head over and over and over and over and over again in her bedroom.
Let's hope no sicko gets the idea to bring justice to call on Eunice, after all this IS the UK, where predators have their pick of the lambs.
It's another Divine Right.

eunice spry was a jehovahs witness.. petition background (preamble): .
So, Seraphim, as a friend of one of the victims, you'd rather she put her hopes on ineffective but SPECTACULAR! efforts instead of helping the victim find remedies that WORK.
Barrold Bonds offered you the Truth and you rejected it. Are your feelings more important than actually helping the victim?
i occasionally pop through here to catch up on the latest, but this time i'm going to pop my own post on here.. some of you internet oldsters may even remember this.
my first experience on the internet regarding discussions about jehovah's witnesses and the watchtower took place on a now-obscure usenet group, before i eventually stumbled across hourglass2.. during those days, there was a poster who went by the name "prominent bethelite," an otherwise anonymous individual whom i remember most for an extensive, exhaustive compilation of date-oriented remarks, predictions, and expectations by the watchtower organization down through the decades of its history.. it became known as "the list" and it's definitely lengthy... but a fascination look at the abundance of errant statements made through the watchtower's history.. if you're curious, it's been available for a long time on hourglass2's site, and can be seen using the link provided below.. the list, compiled by prominent bethelite (1999).
that's about it for this stop through here.
4thgen marvelled, "Hello Morloc, Thanks for the post. Wow! you remembered your password after 14 years!!?!?!?! Impressive! I can't remember mine form day to day!"
That's just ONE of the many benefits of using the word PASSWORD as your password!
this is long, sorry.
my 14 year old niece came to visit us this week.
she's being raised by her grandparents (ex-jws) and birth mother (ex-jw).
ot law required jews to take the lead in stoning a family member who became apostate.. the watchtower has lamented the fact that the law of the land now forbids them from doing so.. if the law permitted it, as it does in some musim countries, and if the watchtower required it, would your family obey?.
my parents are good people and i believe their love for me is genuine, but i think they would follow orders.. what about yours?.
I believe they would, unhesitatingly, because my existence shows that they are fools. I was "supposed" to die in 1975, but suddenly, NOTHING HAPPENED.
you ever seen a guy that you thought, " i'm not gay but hey!
i like the cut of his jib"?.
well here's the: blokes i'd like to "yenz" thread.
I have used the phrase " I like the cut of his jib," but I wasn't staring at his jib when I said it.
